Community Nursing Community Nursing is provided by qualified Public Health Nurses (PHN) and Registered General Nurses (RGN) at home, in schools and in clinic settings.The service is for children, families, older persons & those with sensory & physical disabilities. It covers acute and chronic illnesses. A key part of this role is promotion of health. Postnatal care is provided to mothers, their newborn babies, and for those breast feeding support and advice is available in the home and at local support group.Developmental checks are provided to young children where parenting issues are discussed. Each client has a nursing assessment and a care plan is developed where needs are identified and prioritised. |
